Coventry fans react as they sign Arsenal midfielder Ben Sheaf on loan

Coventry City have completed the loan signing of Arsenal prospect Ben Sheaf – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are delighted to sign him.

Newly-promoted Championship side Coventry announced on their that they have signed the 22-year-old on a season-long loan deal.

The Sky Blues also stated that the deal includes the option to make it permanent next summer.

Sheaf is a product of the Arsenal academy and he’s played in two first-team games for them during his career, but has been unable to make a serious breakthrough.

The defensive midfielder had a brief spell with Stevenage a couple of years ago, but had a real breakout season last year during a loan in League One with Doncaster Rovers, playing 38 games across all competitions.

He’s a deep-lying midfielder that is great in possession and helps dictate play for his side, so it will be intriguing to see how he copes with the step up to the second-tier in English football.
