Could Liverpool have a trump card in race to sign Milan star – in Divock Origi?
Liverpool could be after a midfielder in the January window and have been linked with a move to sign Franck Kessie in recent months. Now, they could have the perfect trump card to get the Ivorian midfielder.
Kessie, 24, has been in excellent form for Milan – particularly over the last 18 months. But simultaneously, his contract situation has been bubbling under the surface. It could now be about to spill over the side.
The Ivory Coast international is out of contract at the end of the season. The chances of Milan being able to renew that seem unlikely, with the midfielder seemingly ready to try something new.

So, for Liverpool to win the race, they would have to convince Kessie to move to Anfield over their rivals. A lack of game time and hefty competition might put Kessie off.
But the Reds could do with additions as early as January – and the perfect swap might have just presented itself. Milan want Origi, and they want to sign him as early as the January window.
Origi is in a similar position to Kessie. While he could be crucial for the Reds while Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are at AFCON, he will revert to reserve-team player soon after that. A January move might be tempting.
Surely then, the two sides could do eachother a favour, by including Origi in a deal to sign Kessie. Perhaps the matter of a few million, and Origi, would do the trick.
