Cody Gakpo names who he believes is now the strongest player at Liverpool

Liverpool are one of the best teams in the Premier League, but they’re also one of the strongest.

Virgil van Dijk has been named as one of the strongest players in world football, while Mohamed Salah also has incredible strength.

Speaking to Pro Direct Soccer, Cody Gakpo has been discussing some of the strongest players at Liverpool.

The Dutchman was asked which Liverpool player can lift the most in the gym, and he gave an interesting answer.

While some may expect Van Dijk or even Salah to be the strongest player at Liverpool, according to Gakpo, Joe Gomez is in fact the player who can lift the most in the gym.

Joe Gomez is Liverpool’s strongest player

According to Gakpo, Gomez lifts more in the gym than any other Liverpool player.

The attacker said that Gomez is always in the gym and he is very impressive when he hits the weights.

“Who can lift the most?” Gakpo was asked.

“Gomez, In the gym, Joey G is on some weights in the gym to be fair,” Gakpo said.

Is Joe Gomez staying at Liverpool?

Gomez may be the strongest player at Liverpool, but, sadly, he’s far from the most important at the moment.

Gomez is rarely in the Liverpool starting XI these days, and, over the summer, there were some doubts cast over his future.

Indeed, Gomez was apparently a target for Chelsea in the summer transfer window, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the defender did leave Anfield at the end of this season.

Liverpool have apparently looked at signing a new centre-back in recent times, and if another defender does arrive, it could spell bad news for Gomez.

With Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Jarrel Quansah all ahead of him in the pecking order, Gomez may well want to look elsewhere in search of first-team football away from Anfield.
