Circumstances should surely see Aston Villa rekindle their Gary Cahill interest

B𝐆efore the start of the January transfer window, Aston Villa had former England international Gary Cahill on their list of potential transfer t🌞argets to shore up their shaky defence.

A former team-mate of assistant John Terry, Cahill also started his career at Aston Villa before leaving for Bolton Wanderers in 2♑008.

However, no deal would be happening. They explained that his £110,000-a-week wages were too expensive to consi༺der and that Cahill was no longer an opt🗹ion.

But the same report did suggest a move could be rekindled. It was suggested that, if Cahill had not found a new club by the end of the t🙈ransfer window, then Aston Villa would try again with the hope of a reduction in those wages from Chelsea.

Well, the transfer window is nearing completion and Cahill remains stuck in Chelsea limbo. A deal ♑to Fulham has broken down this week, with Cahill wanting an 18-month contract at least,

Aston Villa would undoubtedly be willing to offer him such a deal. The Championship side have also freed up a massive proportion of wages this week. Yannick Bolasie has retur🧸ned to Everton,

With all this taken into account, perhaps Aston Villa should rekindle their interest in the experienced defender. He could easily have the same impact as his former team-ma🔯te Terry did at the back, an area where Dean Smith’s side are clearly weak.

It is certainly something for the club to🤡 consider as the transfer window draws to 🍎a close.
