Chris Sutton says £40m Liverpool player did something ‘absolutely pathetic’ vs Wolves

Liverpool beat Wolves 2-1 at the weekend, but this was far from a simple victory for the Reds.

Indeed, the Premier League leaders laboured to victory at Anfield. They failed to have a single shot on target in the second-half of the game, and, at one point, one of Liverpool’s players had to resort to the dark arts.

Diogo Jota went down in the penalty area and was awarded a penalty against his former club, Wolves, but aft🦂er a VAR check, the decision was o💝verturned.

Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off, Chris Sutton has been discussing Jota’s dive against 🐓Wolves, and he’s blasted the £40mꦯ striker for his simulation.

Chris Sutton blasts Diogo Jota for diving

Sutton spoke abou🏅t Jota’s dive, calling the striker out for his actions at the week▨end.

According to Sutton, Jota’s dive was pathetic.

Jota has been called out for diving before by John Terry as well,🦩 so he does have history here.

“I just wi♒sh that Jota, I mean, did you see his dive?” Sutton said.

“I mean, absolutely pathetic. He’s got to stay on his feet🧸 there. Why was he not booked there?

“But the amazing thing abo𒊎ut Jota, why did h🤪e not shoot? He had an opportunity to, you know, one-on-one, get a shot off. Don’t get that at all.”

Diogo Jota record against Wolves

Jota tried to dive to win a penalty against Wolves, and this situation is made all the worse by due to the fact Jota should have some level of loyalty towards Wolv𝔉es.

Indeed, Jota used to play to Wolves before his big-money mo🌟ve to Liverpool.

However, since joiniꩲng the ꦕReds, Jota hasn’t shown his former side much mercy.

The striker does seem to give it that bit extra against his former team. Jota was described as sensational earlier this season vs Wolves, while he’s actually wo♔n every si𓄧ngle game he’s played against his former employer.

Some players freeze 🅘up and struggle when facing their former clubs, but it would appear as though Jota has that extra competitive edge to him when he faces Wolves – as shown by his dive at the weekend.

Jota does need to cut the diving out of his game, as it does take the shine off of what has been a 🥂remarkable season for both the player and the club.
