Chris Sutton impressed by 23-year-old Celtic player despite nightmare first-half against Hearts
Chris Sutton praised Adam Idah just after the half-hour mark as the Celtic striker did superbly to bring a long ball down and get a shot away against Hearts.
It was certainly an eventful first-half fo🦹r Brendan Rodgers’ side at Tynecastle. Celtic were awarded a penalty after 11 minutes when Alex Cochrane was adjudged to have fouled Hyun-jun Yang.
It was Adam Idah who took the spot-kick for the Hoops. However, his effort was saved by Zander Clark as the Republic oཧf Ireland international went down the middle.

Yang’s afternoon would not continue much longer as he was sent off for a high boot. Celtic would then have a goal rul✨ed out for offside when Idah set off too early before setting up Matt O’Riley.

An♓d things would get even worse for Celtic before the break.
Hearts were awarded a soft penalty of their ow꧟n as Tomoki Iwata was penalised for handball. And Jorge Grant was able to send Joe Hart the wrong way to put the home side in front. Hearts thought that they had doubled the lead in stoppage-time before an offside call saved the champions.
It was a frustrating firs𒉰t-half for Idah, who was able to show some of his quality. He looked threatening throughou🦄t. And perhaps his best moment came when he won a corner after doing superbly to bring down a long ball before firing an effort on goal from a tight angle.
Certainly, speaking on (broadcast on 3/3; 12:33), Chris Sutton praised the 23-y൲e🌊ar-old after he got the strike away.
“That’s really good from Adam Idah. Celtic have that option. Good run in behind, held the ball u🦄p really well and eventually gets a shot off,” he said.
Almost a nightmare first 45 minutes for Hoops
Things did not click in the first-half for Idah at the crucial moment. But on an✱other day, he could have gone into the break with a 🎶couple of goals under his belt.
He has been bright since his January loan move. He went into Sunday having scored five goals in൲ his first five league games. And he was only making hiꦐs fourth top flight start for the club against Hearts.
And the way he took on that opportunity showed why he is going to cause ꦬdefenders so💞 many problems during his time at Parkhead.
