Bruce doubts Almiron, Clark and Shelvey will feature as Newcastle tackle Crystal Palace

𒉰Steve Bruce doubts that any of his injured players will return for the weekend game, .

🌞Miguel Almiron, Ciaran Clark and Jonjo Shelvey all remain doubtful for Newcastle United. The Magpies trio all missed last weekend’s 1-0 loss against Burnley.

🅺Newcastle host Crystal Palace this weekend and Bruce will be hoping to get back to winning ways. But he has some injury concerns carrying over from last weekend.

𝓀Almiron is missing alongside fellow attacking midfielder Allan Saint-Maximin. Last weekend, Newcastle’s options were limited with Christian Atsu and Joelinton starting on the wings.

🌠Clark recently enjoyed a return to the side, scoring a couple of goals and contributing to a solid defence. However, his injury meant Fabian Schar was recalled to the starting line-up.

ꦆShelvey has been in fine form this season, operating in a central midfield role. But the 27-year-old is currently missing. Sean Longstaff returned to the side, partnering Isaac Hayden in the middle. Matty Longstaff is the other option in midfield.

TBR’s view

🍎Newcastle have their injury problems and there is a lack of creativity in the attack without Almiron or Saint-Maximin. Clark’s return to the side boosted the defence but Schar’s return is a welcome boost. Lejeune is also available.

﷽Shelvey’s goals have led Newcastle’s charge this season. There is a lack of depth when he is injured and Bruce needs to find alternatives.
