Barry Ferguson now names the only Celtic player who deserved any praise vs Kilmarnock

To be honest, there weren’t many Celtic players that got pass marks on Sunday during the defeat to Kilmarnock.

The whole team where pretty lacklustre and the performance on Sunday was probably the worst of the season so far.

And after slating Luis Palma, according to Barry Ferguson, only one player gets the seal of approval for putting in a shift ಌagainst Derek McInnes’ side.

Ferguson said [], “The only guy that looked comfortable in possession in my eyes was Callum McGregor. There’s a bit of calmness about him.

“I think other𓃲 players, it did look as if they wanted rid of it [the bal🅠l], they didn’t want it.

“And as soon as Kilmarnock got that equaliser the panic 🍨sets. The only guy that’s got a bit about him look🔯ing at the game was Callum McGregor.

“I think they rely too much on him.”

The Celtic captain did put in a decent performance against the Ayrshire side. Winning six duels and making five defensive actions and ꦉthr🀅ee ball recoveries, McGregor did his best to quell wave after wave of Kilmarnock attacks.

The 30-year-old legend also was calm and composed on🐓 the ball. With 77 touches of the ball, McGregor had a passing accuracy of 90% and had one shot on target as he tried to push Celtic forward. []

However, it was not enough as the Hoops eventually succumbed to a late Kilmarnock winner as the fifth-placed SPFL side ca🐟me from behind to win 2-1.

Next up for Celtic is the Champions League. In the final fixture of their European campaign, Brendan Rodgers‘ team face Fe♌yenoord where they will be hoping that a win at least will help to save some face after yet another dismal campaign in Europe’s top com🃏petition.
