Atletico Madrid have just now made bid to sign 23-year-old Celtic player

Atletico Madrid have reportedly made a bid to sign Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley, with the Danish international wanted by a number of clubs.

The 23-year-old has impressed for the Hoops this season, with O’Riley scoring an impressive ten goals in all competitions, with the former MK Dons star also bagging 12 assists.

With O’Riley starting both games for Celtic against Atletico, the Spanish giants got a front row seat this season in the UEFA Champions League for the midfielder’s qualities.

And , the Madrid-based side have now made a loan bid for O’Riley with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

As per the post, Celtic believe they are in a strong position to keep hold of O’Riley, with the Hoops bracing themselves this month for bids for their star midfielder.

Yet given the size of Atletico and how lucrative such a transfer could be for Celtic, there’s every chance that the Glasgow giants might allow the 23-year-old to depart for the continent.

O’Riley has been nothing short of a superstar since joining Celtic from MK Dons, with the midfielder flourishing under Brendan Rodgers and becoming a real target for some top clubs.

And with Atletico now making an approach to sign the London-born talent, O’Riley might find it hard to reject one of Europe’s biggest clubs this January.

Moreover, with Atletico’s offer including an obligation to buy, it seems clear that the Colchoneros have big plans in store for O’Riley if Celtic do allow the midfielder to make the move to Madrid.

Indeed, O’Riley has proven this season he can take on the best in Europe, and joining Atletico is more than the midfielder deserves after his feats this campaign for Celtic.
