Aston Villa now expected to sign Tottenham target within days after agreeing £7.5m salary package

Aston Villa are close to completing their first signing of the winter transfer window.

It has been a decent 2024/25 campaign for the Villans so far under Unai Emery – sitting eighth in the Premier League🔯 while also holding fifth place in the UEFA Champions League.

ไDespite that, the Spaniard still sees some room for improvement at Villa Park – specifically in the attacking department.

As Everton engage in talks to sign Jaden Philogene on a permanent deal from Aston Villa, Monchi is now expected to bring a new forward to the Midlands within days in the form of Donyell Malen.

Aston Villa expected to wrap up Donyell Malen deal in the next few days

ꩲA story from now states that all parties expect to reach an agreement over a deal for the Netherlands international imminently.

💯The German news outlet state that Aston Villa have already agreed a salary package worth €9m-a-year (£7.5m) with the Borussia Dortmund No.21 as well as a contract running until June 2028.

Malen – who Tottenham also want🍒 – is valued by Borussia Dortmund at a sum in the region of €25m to €30m (£20.9m to £25m) and while Aston Villa are yet to agree a fee with the German giants, they are expected to shake hands on a figure soon.

𒐪The Dutchman – who can play anywhere across the frontline – has scored five goals and provided one assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.

Donyell Malen update spells good news for Everton

You would presume this development is a positive for Everton – who are backing Sean Dyche⭕ for now – in terms of their pursuit of Philogene.

🐬Once Malen has arrived at Villa Park, the England U21 international – who has only made two Premier League starts this season – will surely be given the green light to depart.

𒊎If the deal collapses – however – anything could happen, with Aston Villa presumably unwilling to leave themselves short of options as we enter the business end of the season.
