Ashley Cole feels bad for Trent Alexander-Arnold

Cole shared his sympathy for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The pundit says that he feels bad for the right-back due to the ꧋scrutiny he’s getting about his defensive ability, while he also noted the paper talk about the Real Madrid move.

Alexander-Arnold’s defending has been criticised a lot in recent times.

“Trent, he’s been linked with Real Madrid. I think he’s a wonderful foo♌tballer. What do you make of that for him?” Cole was asked.

“Look, I have my opi▨nion. I think he’s definitely got maybe bad press from extern❀al noise that’s written in the paper,” Cole said.

“🀅I know some people might say, that is his fault be🙈cause it’s his agent or whatever. I’m going as a player.

“All we do is play football. Whatever comes in the newspaper is out of our control. I’m just here to play for Liverpool and d𒀰o as well as I can.

“And 𒅌I do feel a little bit sorry for him because what he’s gave Liverpool over many, many years, is the amazing performances. I don’t think you can take away the quality that Trent possesses. A lot of people always want to comment on the negative stuff on him or maybe, you know, he can’t defend, he can’t defend, he can’t defend.

“That’s all I hear. But again, ꦑbein🅺g in the coaching environment now, I understand, well, okay, maybe he’s not his super strength. Yeah.”

“But what he can do with a ball, for me, what I see is, I’ve never seen a fullback possess the qualities of him with a ball at his feet in most areas of the pitch. And I think that’s what people should focus on. And don’t get me wrong, I’ve not been critical at times🧔 of him because we all want people to defend, right?”

“We assume defender, you have to defend. But again, football’s evolving, Liverpool and the old manager, Jürgen Klopp, must have been happy with the way Trent played. And I just felt, I think he’💜s a little bit hard done by at the moment.”

What Ashley Cole said about leaving Arsenal

Cole says that he feels sorry for Alexander-Arnold due to the scrutiny he’s getting amid a lot of paper t🍃alk about a potential move away from his boyhood club.

Interestingly, there may nꦿot be a pundit more well-qualiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚfied to speak about this than Cole.

Indeed, back in 2006, Cole made a monume༒ntal career decision as he left his boyhood club, Arsenal, to join Chelsea – cue outrage from Arsenal suppo💞rters everywhere.

Arsene Wenger regretted selling Cole, and Cole has some regrets about this move too.

Via , Cole said that it is hard to deal with the bad blood between himself and A💜rsenal supporters to this day.

“It’s still there,” Cole said.

“🌞It hurts me because it wasn’t just my fault. I didn’t leave for no reason. I didn’t go to Arsene Wenger and say ‘today I want to leave’ – there was more to it.

“It happens in football and I see it happ𝓀en to a lot of other players. It’s life.

“I moved on and they moved on, but I do feel sometimes a bit sad because it was my club and I played there since I was nine. To have that💦 ill-feeling from the fans still is hard sometimes.”

Alexander-Arnold is facing a similar dilemma at the moment, and while it may be frustrating for Liverpool fans to see a star player leave, Cole can sympathise with what he’s going through right𒅌 now.
