Arsenal reportedly want Southampton star that Le Tissier claimed is better than Rose
ಌArsenal are reportedly interested in signing Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand this month as they look to bring in competition for Kieran Tierney – and Matt Le Tissier’s comments from 2016 will have Gunners fans certainly excited.
ꦅBertrand, 31, remains a crucial part of Southampton’s side this season but has entered the last six months of his contract with The Saints. However, the says he has held initial talks with the club over extending that deal.
🦄The report states he is happy at Southampton but Arsenal are interested in a player that still lives in West London following his time at Chelsea – but commutes to and from Southampton. Arsenal, though, are keen on the England international.
🐈Certainly, Arsenal fans will be keen to hear Le Tissier’s comments from 2016. He suggested that Bertrand – a Champions League winner with Chelsea – is better than Tottenham’s Danny Rose when discussing which would be best for England.
♛“I think Cahill is a little bit out of sorts at the moment and Stones and Smalling deserve to be starting ahead of him, while I still think Bertrand is a better defender than Rose,” .

TBR’s view – Bertrand a solid signing for Arsenal
🌠But surely the player would reject a move. He starts every game for Southampton and was the club’s captain for a period of time – since being replaced by James Ward-Prowse. At Arsenal, he would certainly only be cover for Tierney.
𝓡Even if it means he would return to a London club where he lives, £70,000-a-week () Bertrand would be best advised to stay with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men – especially as they fight for European qualification this season.
