Arsenal fans say they would win the league if they sign ‘perfect’ left-winger who ‘absolutely terrorised’ Liverpool
Arsenal fans have been left in awe of one of AC Milan’s players after he ran riot against Liverpool in their pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The Gunners have had a busy summer on the transfer front, signing a host of exciting players, but there’s scope to bring in someone on the left flank.
TBR Football sources understand Leandro Trossard has told Arsenal he would like to leave, while Gabriel Martinelli is not deemed unsellable by the Gunners.
New Arsenal signing Noni Madueke can cover on the left wing, but the vast majority of his appearances have come on the right.
With that in mind, the Gunners could do with bringing in an orthodox left winger, and Arsenal fans think the “perfect” option is staring them in the face.
Arsenal fans want to sign Rafael Leao after masterclass against Liverpool
The player in question is Rafael Leao, who has been on Arsenal’s radar this summer and is enjoying a superb pre-season.
It was previously reported that Mikel Arteta sees Leao as an upgrade on Martinelli and Trossard.
Leao was in action for Milan against Arsenal earlier this week, where he put on a show for supporters with plenty of flicks and tricks.
There was also a moment in which Leao and Declan Rice had a post-match chat on the pitch.
And on Saturday, Leao was a key player for Milan as they ran out 4-2 winners over Liverpool, getting on the scoresheet in the process.
Arsenal fans are convinced he would be the ideal upgrade for Martinelli and Trossard on the left flank.
One fan wrote on X: “Berta, please sell Martinelli and sign Leao asap – we are begging.”
Another said: “Berta, please pick up the phone. A front three of Leao, Gyokeres and Saka with Eze behind wins us the league.”
The calls to sign him kept coming, with one supporter saying: “Rafael Leao is a Joke. Makes you want to forget all the out-of-possession stuff and just sign him.”
Another wrote: “Rafael Leao is the best left winger Arsenal could possibly sign.
“He brings exactly what we’re missing in that position. He can play on the left wing but also as a centre-forward if needed.
“Brilliant ball control, incredibly hard to mark, and always looks to drive forward. Physically strong and built for the Premier League.
“He’s at the peak of his career, and on several occasions, he’s shown an interest in playing for us.
“A signing like this would genuinely be a dream. I just don’t know how realistic the move actually is.”
There was even some input from a Liverpool fan urging any clubs who need a left-winger to look at Leao.
“I repeat, Rafael Leao is a serious player, he has absolutely terrorized us,” he wrote. “Every club that needs a LW should be looking to sign him.”

Arsenal’s stance towards Rafael Leao
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has confirmed that, while Arsenal remain keen on Leao, they won’t look to sign him this summer.
“It’s gone very quiet on him,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football. “With Allegri coming in, he wants to build around Leao.
“If Allegri hadn’t gone in there, we’d have heard a lot more on him, especially with Arsenal.
“They backed away, which tells us a lot. But for good reason.
“Leao is very expensive. But I think with Allegri, that’s why Arsenal backed away.
“Arsenal were really the ones who liked him a lot, and they still do in theory.
“But he’s just not available. He’d be very, very expensive. So he’s not on the radar this summer.
“I don’t blame them – primarily because Allegri’s gone in there and he’s going to be a key part of that.”
