Arsenal fans now urge Mikel Arteta to sign £14m ‘nightmare for defenders’ instead of Alexander Isak

Arsenal signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle is beginning to look like a pipe dream for the Gunners.

ꦜWith each passing week, the Sweden international adds to his price tag with yet another scintillating performance for the Magpies, scoring twice in the 3-1 win over Southampton last time out.

The Newcastle No.14 now has 17 goals in just 21 Premier League appearances this season – along with five assists – with many regarding the Swede as the best striker in Europe at the moment.

A story from the Telegraph recently claimed that Newcastle value the man born in Solna at a sum of £150m – so Arsenal would need to obliterate𓆉 their current club record fee of £105m for Declan Rice to secure his signature.

As Arsenal supporters begin to get realistic and give up on Alexander Isak arriving at the Emirates Stadium, a new striker is now being discussed amongst the fanbase in Hugo Ekitike.

Arsenal fans want Hugo Ekitike

While ജIsak – who Arsenal want more than any other striker on the planet🍰 according to David Ornstein – has arguably been the best frontman in Europe so far this season, Ekitike is not far behind.

🐻The Eintracht Frankfurt No.11 has scored 16 goals and provided six assists in just 28 appearances across all competitions this term, and is truly thriving after making a €16.5m (£13.8m) permanent switch to Germany back in April.

💜To begin, one Arsenal fan said Ekitike has everything required to become an “elite” striker in future, posting: “If Arsenal can’t get Isak or (Benjamin) Sesko I think they should look at Hugo Ekitike. He’s got everything in him to be an elite forward. This boy is definitely going to be a nightmare for defenders.”

🎃A second Arsenal supporter quipped: “I really want Ekitike at Arsenal. He can drop deep and link up play, really fun to watch aesthetically as well – he really is a baby Isak. He’s the sort of player that makes you get up off your feet. He would look so good with the No.14 #MakeArsenalFrenchAgain.”

ﷺFurthermore, a third Arsenal fan even – boldly – wrote that Ekitike should be ahead of Sesko if Mikel Arteta does give up on Isak, posting: “If we can’t get Isak, this is the guy and not Sesko.”

TBR Football understand Arsenal recently asked RB Leipzig about Sesko✱ – but the Bundesliga side insist the Slovenia international will not be moving this winter.

ꦕA fourth Arsenal fan added: “That’s my ‘hear me out’ signing since PSG, he’s so so good. Been on fire this season too. He deserves it.”

🦹Last but not least, two more Arsenal fans emphatically agreed with others in the discussion, urging Arteta to “bring him immediately” while another simply posted “YES” on X (previously known as Twitter).

Newcastle actually wanted Hugo Ekitike before Alexander Isak

🐲The Arsenal fans comparing Ekitike to Isak make a very good point – as Eddie Howe actually pushed to sign the France U21 international before eventually splashing £63m to take the Swede from Real Sociedad.

💮Shortly after PIF (Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia) took over Newcastle, the Magpies even agreed a fee of £25.6m with Reims for the 22-year-old.

However, Ekitike ended up rejecting Newcastleꦰ when PSG entered the race, telling le10sport: “I am not forgetting everything Newcastle did for me to come. If I had to go abroad, I would have gone there, but when PSG wants you and you’re French, you can’t refuse.”
