Arne Slot says £62.5m forward wanted by Arsenal ‘has the quality to play for one of the top five teams in England’
Arsenal are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window after their failure to sign a new forward came back to haunt them.
Arsenal made a bid for Ollie Watkins late in the window, while Arsenal also made an approach for Evan Ferguson at one point.
The Gunners didn’t sign anybody in the end, and now the🐠y fi𝔍nd themselves with just Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri and Raheem Sterling to call upon in attack.
One forward Arsenal were linked with in January ended up signing a new contra💛ct with a £62.5million release clause, making him relatively affordable in the summer.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has now sung said player’s praises, saying he’s good enough to♛ plaꦇy for any of the Premier League’s top five clubs.

Arne Slot wowed by Arsenal target Matheus Cunha
The player in question is Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha, w🅺ho Arsenal ꧟have admired for a long time.
The Brazilian has b🃏een in superb form this season for Wolves, having registered 11 goals and four assists in 23 Premier League appearances.
Wolves are set to face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon and, speaking at his pre-match press conference, Slot spoke hওighly of Cunha.
“He’s a type of player🦩 that I’m referring to when I always say when I compare the leagues that I’ve worked in an✤d this league,” Slot told the Liverpool .
“I don’t know exactly where Wolves is at the moment – 17th? If yo♛u go to the Dutch league and you look at the number 17, there’s no player that ✤can play for Ajax, PSV or Feyenoord.
“🐷But Matheus Cunha is a quality player and he has the quality to play forꦏ one of the top five teams in England.
“That ⛄is also one of the reasons why it is so much more difficult to win a game against the number 17 in England than to win against the number 17 in Holland.
“Again, ꦑwe already saw when we played against them with Gary O’Neil they had a very good performance back then as well – he [Cunha] in particular.”
What Matheus Cunha could bring to Arsenal
Cunha is a versatile forward who has been used in a variety of roles at Wolves, as Adri✃an Clarke wrote on the Premier League’s last year.
At Wolves, Cunha ‘either plays as a roving centre-forward or as a left-sided No. 10 in a 3-4-2-1, aꦦnd f🍨rom those areas it is his beautifully-balanced ball carrying which frightens defenders most.’
, meanwhile, 🐠described Cunha last year as ‘a player with almost every key attribute – paceꦐ, power and skill.’
Cunha☂ is understood to have a £62.💧5million release clause for the summer includeꦛd in h💎is new contract with Wolves.
This could well plac✤e Arsenal and Forest on red alert for the summer after having taken a close look at a potential deal during January𝔍.
A season that promised so much for the Gunners🌊 is now in danger of fizzling out, so the club will want to ensure their squad is equipped to go all the way in 2025/26.
