Ange Postecoglou wowed by Tottenham talent who looks so ‘strong and lean’

Tottenham Hotspur are flying Europa League with three wins in a row in the competition as they saw off AZ on Thursday night.

🃏Although Spurs weren’t at their very best, they got the job done, courtesy of Richarlison’s 53rd-minute penalty.

AZ’s Maxim Dekker kicked out at Lucas Bergvall in the box to gift Tottenham a spot kick early in the second half.

Richarlison🅷, making his first start of the season, was seen arguing with James Maddison over who would take the penalty.

🥂Maddison, who captained Spurs on the night, ultimately allowed his teammate to take the spot kick.

ℱIt proved an inspired decision, as Richarlison confidently struck the ball down the middle to ultimately give Tottenham the win.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Crystal Palace clash, Ange Postecoglouꦕ gave his thoughts on the player’s fruitful first start of the campaign.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou praises ‘strong and lean’ Richarlison

Postecoglou previously spoke about how ♏Spurs have sought to get Richarlison as fit as possible prior to his return to action.

🀅The Tottenham boss touched upon this, saying the player looked “strong, lean and had plenty of energy”, and backed him to become “really important” for the Lilywhites.

♉“He’s always contributed when he has played,” Postecoglou told on Friday.

🍨“Like I said, we work really hard and to be fair he’s worked really hard in this rehab time, not just from his injury but just getting him into a better physical condition.

🐼“He looked good (Thursday) night, he looked strong, lean and had plenty of energy and he’s going to be a really important player for us for sure.

✤“Like I said, we took a bit of a different approach with him and hopefully with the objective of breaking that cycle when he comes back for a bit and breaks down.

💖“Credit to him he’s come back, worked hard, feeling really good about things and great for him to get a goal (Thursday) night.”
