Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham have a 22-year-old who is going to be incredible

Ange Postecoglou has been speaking about Micky van de Ven – and he is delighted by the Tottenham No.37’s start to life in England.

The 58-year-old made the comments when speaking in his press conference on Friday.

So, what did Ange Postecoglou say about Micky van de Ven? Let’s take a look…

What Postecoglou said about Van de Ven

Well, the Netherlands international has been a huge hit at Spurs since arriving in a deal from VfL Wolfsburg back in August.

Van de Ven has already cemented himself in the history books as the quickest Premier League player of all time, following one blistering sprint in the 3-2 win over Brentford.

Some have even described the Dutchman as being on par with Heung-min Son in terms of importance to Tottenham.

Now, Postecoglou has shared his thoughts on Van de Ven’s start to life in English football.

The man from Greece is by Tottenham’s official YouTube channel as saying: “We kind of knew what we were getting from Micky from a physical perspective. There is plenty of evidence that showed what we have already seen that his speed and ability to recover was elite, for sure, but then it’s not just about running fast. Football is more than that, it’s more than just speed. You have to use that in the right way and I have been really impressed by how he’s adapted to Premier League football.

“He’s up against top strikers every week and his ability to use that speed in such an effective way in terms of his defensive work, I think has been outstanding for such a young man in his first year. Don’t forget before he came to us he’d only had one year in the Bundesliga, so there is so much more to come from him but I have been really pleased with just the way he has gone up to this level and used what he has as his strengths.”

Sky is the limit for Van de Ven at Tottenham

Clearly, Postecoglou believes the 22-year-old has more gears to move into as he grows older.

Van de Ven has made appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season, scoring one goal.

Hopefully, the man from Wormer can stay off the treatment table after his recent hamstring problems, and become a legend at Tottenham.
