Ange Postecoglou says £25m Tottenham player has suffered serious injury setback ahead of Manchester City clash

Tottenham Hotspur suffered significantly from injuries last season and it seems as if their issues have followed them into the 2024/25 campaign.

Ange Postecoglou is now preparing his Tottenham🌟 side to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

𝔉With their form in the Premier League leaving a lot to be desired, Tottenham could really do with a solid run in the League Cup as their silverware drought continues to cast a shadow over the club.

🧸Heung-min Son missed Sunday’s defeat through injury♛ having also missed the midweek victory over AZ Alkmaar.

ไBut there is now another injury issue for Tottenham to deal with as they prepare to face the reigning Premier League champions.

Wilson Odobert Tottenham injury update

Speaking to the media on Tuesday from Hotspur Way, Postecoglou confirmed summer signing Wilson Odobert has suffered a serious injury setback.

🔜“The only other one missing out which is a bit of a disappointment is Wilson, who has had a setback during the week and it seems like it is a serious one so we’re just waiting for more information,” said the Australian.

𝔍Odobert has already missed the majority of the 2024/25 campaign through a hamstring injury which he had just returned from.

However, the £25mꦗ Frenchman did not feature in the matchday squad on the weekend and it is now clear why.

Postecoglou has been impressed by Odobert꧅ in Tottenham training prior to his injury which is just another blow for the Lilywhites.

Mikey Moore could be set for another Tottenham start

🐟On top of the Odobert update, Postecoglou confirmed Son will not be able to play against City as he targets a return this weekend.

It is believed ಌPostecoglou is already looking to upgrade Timo Wernerജ which would leave young Mikey Moore as the potential starter on the left wing.

🌟Moore really impressed Glenn Hoddle against AZ Alkmaar✅ but was not quite as effective against Palace on Sunday afternoon.

🔴But a consistent run in the starting XI could be exactly what the 17-year-old needs to continue his development at Spurs.

ꦦIf Moore is to start on Wednesday night, it would certainly be a damning insight on where Werner lies in the Tottenham pecking order.
