Ange Postecoglou really likes Spurs teenager yet to make debut; January interest has been rejected

Tottenham Hotspur have seen off interest from clubs at home and abroad in Will Lankshear, with Ange Postecoglou a fan of the young striker.

It has been a quiet deadline day for Spurs who put many of their Premier League rivals to shame with their early business in the window.

There is looking set to be one striker departure, with Alejo Veliz heading to Sevilla on loan. But another young forward in the Tottenham ranks looks set to stay.

The report notes that the 18-year-old will be involved in some first-team training, with Ange Postecoglou impressed by the teenager.

Youngster doing all he can to show Ange Postecoglou what he can do

Lankshear definitely appears to be doing all he can to stake a claim to Postecoglou. The youngster has now scored 11 goals in 10 games in Premier League 2 this season. That includes a hat-trick in the 5-3 win over Aston Villa towards the end of last month.

Of course, Tottenham’s Premier League title push is not going to do him any favours if he hopes to make his debut this season.

But Postecoglou has not been afraid to put his faith in younger players since being appointed in the summer. So if he decides that Lankshear is ready, he will not hesitate to give him a chance.

The fact that Tottenham were not prepared to loan him out shows that they have high hopes for his future.
