Ange Postecoglou hints who is likelier to start out of Lucas Bergvall and Yves Bissouma for Tottenham v Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur are in Carabao Cup quarter-final action on Thursday night as they host Manchester United in North London.

🌳Spurs will be eager to take a step closer to the final of the competition and a first major trophy since 2008.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou🍌 has a selection headache of the good kind with regards to his midfield options for the game.

Lucas Bergvall🍃 was impressive on his first Premier League start for Spurs in the 5-0 win over Southampton at the weekend.

Brought into the starting XI due to Yves Bissouma’s♐ suspension, Bergvall delivered an impressive display as he used the ball well when in possession.

🌸Postecoglou now needs to decide who to pick between Bergvall and Bissouma, and on Wednesday, he hinted who is currently more likely to start.

Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham must monitor Lucas Bergvall recovery ahead of Manchester United cup clash

🃏Postecoglou was asked at his pre-match presser how tough it would be to decide who would start out of Bergvall and Bissouma.

ꦡAlthough the Spurs boss said he’ll made a decision on Thursday, he admitted that it was Bergvall’s first start for a while and he “tired noticeably”.

꧒“It’s good to have an option there,” Postecoglou told .

ও“Lucas did fantastically well the other night and he has done in the last two or three games he has played for us as he’s really made an impact, but the other night I thought he was really good.

🔯“In the first half he really showed maturity playing that role, discipline and real quality as well. It’s good to have that option.

🥂“Having Biss available is great as well. I’ll make a decision tomorrow, but at the same time that was Lucas’ first start for quite a while and he did tire noticeably in the second half.

🐼“So we’ll have to see how he’s recovered from the game.”

🐟Even if Bergvall misses out on a starting spot against Man United, it’s good to see his Spurs career going up the gears.

Earlier this year, Djurgardens official 🐎Peter Kisfaludy tipped Bergvall to eventually become one of the world’s best midfielders🅷, so it’s great that he’s now getting more minutes and improving.
