Andy Townsend says Tottenham have a ‘fantastic’ £17m talent in their ranks
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been praised by Premier League pundit Andy Townsend.
The Spurs stopper delivered another impressive performance for Ange Postecoglou’s side on Monday night.
Tottenham ran out 2-0 winners over Fulham in the Premier League to go back to the top of the table.

Vicario produced a great one-handed save to thwart a Joao Palhinha header in the early stages.
The Spurs keeper also saved expertly from Raul Jimenez in the latter stages of the match.
This save prompted Townsend to sing the 27-year-old’s praises on the Premier League .
“He’s got to score,” he said. “That one’s got to go in, it’s a brilliant chance, but a fantastic save again from Vicario.
“He’s been a spectator for most of the night but has made two big saves, one in each half.
“It’s a gilt-edged chance and it’s got to go in, on a night when they’ve been few and far between.”
Tottenham struck gold with Guglielmo Vicario
When Tottenham were looking for a new goalkeeper amid Hugo Lloris’ desire to leave Spurs, David Raya was said to be a prime target.
However, Tottenham withdrew their interest in the Brentford goalkeeper and went for Vicario instead.
At the time, there were some Spurs fans who were not at all pleased with the club’s decision to go for the Italian.
However, Vicario has proven to be an outstanding acquisition for Tottenham. He has barely put a foot wrong for Spurs.
And better still, Tottenham reportedly paid Empoli just over for his services.

Spurs have pretty much struck gold with every signing that they have made this summer.
Indeed, the ones who haven’t stood out are the ones who simply haven’t got going just yet, but expectations are still high.
As for Vicario, he has been a real hidden gem, and it looks like he could go on to become a star for Tottenham.
So much so, in fact, that Spurs haven’t really missed Lloris – who, let’s not forget, is very much a club legend.
