Andros Townsend makes interesting claim about Manchester United after playing against them
Luton Town winger Andros Townsend has made an interesting claim about Manchester United after Saturday’s game.
Erik ten Hag🐲’s men picked up a much-needed 1-0 win over the Hatters thanks to a Victor Lindelof goal.
Ten Hag had come under fire after back-to-back 3-0 defeats at Old Trafford last month but he’s managed to pick up wins over Luton and Fulham since.
🔯Of course, the Red Devils did fall to a 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen in the Champions League and there have been concerns raised over their level of performances this season.
Yet, Andros Townsend has claimed the statistics don’t reflect how difficult it is to play against this Manchester United side.
Townsend makes interesting claim about United
♌Speaking on the ‘s Monday Night Club, Townsend reflected on a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford and claimed United are similar to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side.
♏“Extremely difficult,” the winger said. “They are difficult. We were able to defend against them well but similar to Liverpool they just find a way.

⛦“Honestly, it was extremely tough game. There was rotation all over the pitch. We were well drilled and confident as we had just got a point against Liverpool the week before, we had a game plan to press high up the pitch and force turnovers, United didn’t really give us anything.
ಞ“Maguire was good on the ball, we tried to press him but he was very good, Bruno Fernandes didn’t give us anything. You look on the stats sheet and it might be like United didn’t do this or that but it was so difficult for us to be able to contain this United side. They posed so many problems, even if it doesn’t show up on a piece of paper.”

ꦫTen Hag’s men haven’t progressed after a positive debut season for the Dutchman last time out, where he lifted a League Cup and guided United to a third-placed finish.
