Ally McCoist now reacts to ‘brilliant news’ he has heard from Liverpool

Liverpool fans have just received some excellent news over the international break.

Supporters of the Reds have had an enjoyable 2024/25 campaign so far, with Arne Slot winning all three of his Premier League matches in charge, including a 3-0 victoryཧ over Manchester United at Old T🍬rafford.

Now, there has been another boost for Liverpool fans – one Ally McCoist has just reacted to…

Ally McCoist responds after Virgil van Dijk comments

The 61-year-old has now shared his thoughts on talkSPORT after Virgil van Dijk revealed he🎃 would like to extend his contract at Anfield.

There has been plenty of talk about the Netherlands international, as well as Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, as all three Liverpool stars find themselves out of contract at the en🌟d of the season.

While it remains to be seen what happens with Alexand꧟er-Arnold, who has been linked to Real Madrid, and Salah, Van Dijk has now eased concerns over his future in a ౠrevealing interview.

As quote𒐪d by the Mirror, the Dutchman : “At both teams (Liverpool and the Netherlands) I am still Virgil van Dijk, the big leader, and I certainly wan𝓰t to remain that for the next two years.”

After hearing those comments, McCoist said on talkSPORT at 7:ꦛ20am (Monday 9th September): 🤡“Brilliant news. Delighted. Brilliant news. Brilliant news for everybody.”

Therefore – unless Liverpool have other ideas – you would expect Va🌌n Diﷺjk to sit down and negotiate a new contract with the Reds soon.

Many questions marks at Liverpool

While it is fantastic news to hear that Van Dijk wants to stay, there are many qu⭕estions marks about what the future holds for Salah and Alexander Arnold.

As aforesaid, Real Madrid like the England int𝄹ernational.

However, Salah is not believed to 🦄be keen on a move to Saudi Arabia, and the Egypt international is yet to be concretely linked to anothe𝐆r club, so he could well opt to follow Van Dijk in signing a new deal, unless another option emeﷺrges.

Whatever the Liverpool No.11 and Alexander-Arnold d🍌ecide to do, the Reds must be prepared foꦆr the worst.

All three of the aforementioned names ar🦩e arguably the most im🃏portant players at Liverpool, so it will surely require a lot of homework from Michael Edwards – CEO of Football at Anfield – to replace them.
