Alisson shares honest verdict on Giorgi Mamardashvili’s Liverpool transfer

Liverpool have decided to invest in a new goalkeeper having picked out Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili as a target.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Mamardashvili’s move to Liverpool is ‘getti🐷ng💞 close’ 𒁃with the Reds paying 🀅around €30million (£25.5million).
There is just one catch; Mamardashvili will be heading straight back to Valencia ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚon loan for the 2024-25 season.
Liverpool rate Mamardashvili ‘incredibly highly’ and view him as the long-term successor to Alisson between the sticks.
Alisson has now commented on the move himself as he wat🌠ches Liverpool sign the man earmarked to take his spot.
Some players may be left on edge by that kind of move; when do Liverpool really want Mamardashvili to꧟ take over? A ꦺyear? Two? That is unclear right now.
Alisson is taking it well though having told that he thinks signing Mamardashvili is a ‘good idea’, hinting that the deal will now get doꦅne.
The Brazilian accepts that Liverpool need to prepare for the future and he simp🦩ly won’t be at Anfield forever.
Live✅rpool actually made Alisson aware of the Mamardashvili deal before it emerged on social media, something the Reds stoppe🏅r appreciates as they asked for his views on the move rather than leaving him to hear about it elsewhere.
Yet Alisson was also completely honest and noted that he could stay for a long🅘 time yet, suggesting that he is happy to remain at Anfield for as long as he and his family are happy.
“The club needs to prepare for the future,” said Alisson. “We are not going to last forever here, I am getting old! No, for a goalkeeper I am still young, I have a lot of energy and I still have much to give for this club and I want to give to the ꦦclub as much as I can. But they have to prepare for the future. They have and they will do for different positions as well. We have so many important players with the contract expiring and the club needs to organise themselves.”
“I think it was a good idea, I knew about [Mamardashvili] before it came out on social media and that is a good message for me because the club cares about what I think. But they are doing the right thing in my point of view, but, on my side, as long as I have my contract here and as long as I am happy here, the club is hapಞpy with me, my family is happy here, I will stay,” he added.

There may well be a crossover period where Mamardashvili has to sit behind Alisson and t his only heightens the need for Caoimhin Kelleher to move on.
The Iriไshman has been sitting behind Alisson for a number of years now, but is watc♋hing on as Liverpool agree to sign another goalkeeper.
Kelleher simply has to leave Liverpool to further his career, but he may ✃have to wait until Mamardashvili arrives next summer to make that a reality.
Alisson seems happy for Mamardashvili ♚to come in and compete with him but this move surely spells the end of Kelleher’s Anfield career – even if it takes a year for him to depart.
