Alex Iwobi says Ben Godfrey is definitely the fastest player at Everton

Everton star Alex Iwobi has claimed that Ben Godfrey is the fastest player at the club – not Anthony Gordon.

𓂃Frank Lampard seems to have turned it around at Goodison Park. The Toffees have looked good this season, and Iwobi has been one of their star performers in his new central midfield position.

Alex Iwobi says Ben Godfrey is definitely the fastest player at Everton

🍎Iwobi sat down for an interview with the and spoke about various things.

🌸One of them was about the fastest player at the club, and if your mind has just gone to Gordon, Demarai Gray or Dwight McNeil, you’re wrong.

🥀The Nigerian has claimed that Gordon is actually ‘very rapid’, but there’s one player at the club who’s even faster than him – Godfrey.

ꦍWhen the host claimed Gordon isn’t really known for his pace, Iwobi said: “Anthony’s very rapid, you know? He could be one of the quickest in the team.

ꦫ“Ben (Godfrey) is the quickest – facts. But Anthony will try and say it’s him.”

Godfrey has had a torrid time with injuries.

ꦚHe missed the last seven games of last season due to a thigh problem, and just when he was hoping to put all the fitness issues behind him, he suffered another terrible injury on the opening day of the new season.

𝓰The 24-year-old isn’t expected to be back any time soon. He is likely to remain sidelined until after the World Cup, which means there’s a small chance he may not play again this year.

꧂Everton have a solid back four and midfield now and it will be interesting to see where Godfrey will fit in once he returns from his injury.
