Alan Shearer shares whether he wants Celtic and Rangers to join the English Premier League
Alan Shearer has now been giving his view on the age-old debate of Celtic and Glasgow Rangers joining the English Premier League.
Perhaps the desire mainly stems from England, with fans very keen to see their side take a trip to face either Philippe Clement or Brendan Rodgers’ sides at Ibrox and Celtic Park.

But it’s certainly an idea that won’t go away, and Shearer has now been giving his view on the merits of a historic move.
Of course, the removal of Scotland’s two biggest sides wouldn’t bode too well for the Scottish Premier League.
Either way, when speaking on ‘’ Podcast, Shearer was adamant that both Celtic and Rangers would be a breath of fresh air in the Premier League.
Shearer said: “Me too. I think the size of those two giant football clubs, it would only enhance our league for the better.
“The atmosphere in those grounds is amazing, the support they have around the world is fantastic.
“So absolutely, it would be brilliant if they could be in the Premier League but I don’t think we are ever going to see it.”
Alan Shearer would love to have Celtic and Rangers in the English Premier League
Of course, it’s unlikely to ever be a situation that British fans will see unfold.
As Shearer said, Celtic and Rangers would definitely enhance the Premier League, but the consequences could be too damaging for the rest of Scottish football.

Fans will have to settle for big nights in European competitions for these high-profile British ties, the way it always has been.
Of course, both Celtic and Rangers will be hoping that they can raise their levels in Europe in the years to come.
Celtic in particular have become less accustomed to a big European upset, with the win over Feyenoord being their first at home for far too long.
That being said, it seems the side already may have their eye on one January addition.
Whereas Rangers will have their focus on keeping Ross McCausland in this current window, who has been attracting attention from England.
