Alan Shearer says West Brom have an ‘exciting’ talent in their ranks, has ‘quality and confidence’
West Bromwich Albion on-loan midfielder Conor Gallagher has been praised by Alan Shearer, who believes the 21-year-old is one of the Premier League’s top young players.
Gallagher linked up with the Baggies in September after penning a new contract at Chelsea.
While overall it has been a disappointing season at The Hawthorns, Gallagher has been a real bright spot for Albion thanks to his dynamic displays.

To date, he has made 26 appearances for West Brom, 24 of which have come in the league, and he’s registered two goals and two assists.
In the latest episode of Rising Stars on the Premier League’s YouTube , Shearer spoke highly of the England Under-21 international.
“This young man has caught the eye with a number of performances for struggling West Brom,” Shearer said.
“An exciting midfield prospect, Gallagher is West Brom’s leading ball winner and has a decent cross on him, delivering a wicked ball for (Mbaye) Diagne against Manchester United.
“(He also provided) an assist for (Kyle) Bartley as the Baggies picked up a vital win against Brighton – the lad’s also got quality and confidence going forward.”
Gallagher spent the first half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic and the second half at Swansea City, earning plaudits aplenty for his performances as he’s doing now.
