The 30-year-old has now scored twice this season with his other strike coming in a 3-0 win over Tottenham in September.

It wasn’t just his goal that caught the eye at the weekend. Shearer was delighted with his performance and picked him for his Team of the Week.

Kante will be in action once again tonight as Chelsea look to secure their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The 30-year-old finally looks set to kick on under Thomas Tuchel and Saturday’s performance was a joy to behold.
