‘After that’… £6m Celtic loanee now shares when he plans to make a decision about his future

Celtic’s work in the transfer business in the summer and January has been labelled in some quarters as a failure.

Whilst the jury is still out on Nicolas Kuhn 👍and Adam Idah, it is fair to say both winter additions have a decent start to their Celtic careers.

However, most of the spotlight has been on Brendan Rodgers’ summer additions. With some players from that window already farmed out on loa🌃n and others failing to make the grade, there has been a lot of criticism from the fans about the summer recru🧸itment policy.

However, there is one player who was signed in that period that can be regarded as a success. Portuguese midfielder, Paulo Bernardo, has been in excellent form recen🙈tly and this weekend, he addr🍨essed when he plans to make a decision on his long-term future.

Bernardo said [], “I haven’t▨ spoken to the Benfica manager yet.

“My focus is here on Celtic. After that, I can talk to everyone and𒊎 then decide what happens next. I feel I’m improving a lot here.

“I didn’t get many minutes in the first team at Benfica, so I am developing here more. All of my focus ✨is on the now.”

TBR Celtic recently told how the Parkhead club learned of the fee that Benfica would expect for Bernardo should R🦋odgers wish to make him a permanent addition to the squad.

A £6m price tag is not a bad price for a 22-year-old player who is very clearly technically gifted. Bernardo’s form of late has turned him into a regular in the Celtic side and he has stepped up well to fill in a Reo Hatate size hole ♈in the heart of the Hoops midfield.

Bernardo has now started to show the form he was producing in the Champions League on the domestic front and impressive performances and goals against Rꦬangers and Dundee have kept him in the side.

When ♔the time comes for Bernardo to decide where he wants to ply his trade next season you cannot argue that he has made a decent case for Rodgers to bring him to Glasgow permanently.
