After failed Ollie Watkins bid Arsenal now interested in signing another Aston Villa star
TBR Football exclusively understands that Arsenal are now interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey, who is returning to form under Unai Emery.
In January, Arsenal launched a surprise bid for Ollie Watkins in Mikel Arteta’s quest for a striker, a fairly latch-ditch attempt that angered Villa.
And after selling Jhon Duran to the ꧅Saudi Pro League, it was then incrediಞbly unlikely that Emery’s side would sanction a departure for Watkins, too.
Watkins will now dovetail with Marcus Rashford and Donyell Malen as Villa’s number nine, with the latter also on Arsenal’s books in the past.
Arsenal impressed by Jacob Ramsey at Aston Villa
That being said, Graeme Bailey – chief correspondent at TBR Football, understands that Ramsey is once again on the radar of some of Villa’s Premier League rivals, includinಌg Arsenal and Liverpool.
The 23-year-old is held in very hi𓄧gh regard and has enjoyed a strong campaign under Emery, despite a six-week lay off due to a hamstring issue.

Ramsey has come through the ranks at Villa Park and was linked with a move away from the club last summer given Villa’s d♍ifficulty with PSR.
Ramsey being homegrown means that in theory, Villa would make pure profit on the attack🧜ing midfielder, were they ever to sell.
However, Villa see Ramsey as a big part of their future,❀ whose contract currently runs until 2027.
But that hasn’t stopped Ramsey f𓂃rom impressing some of Vill🅺a’s Premier League rivals, including Arsenal and Liverpool.
🧔TBR are told that both are keeping close tabs on Ramsey’s progress, and they’ve bee🐷n hugely impressed with what they’ve seen.
Unai Emery has spoken about keeping Jacob Ramsey
Speaꦗking back at the start of last year, when Ramsey was being linked away from Villa, Emery was pretty candid about how valuable he considers the Englishman.
Ramsey 🔥is yet to earn his fiꦕrst England cap, but he certainly seems to be on the right path to do so.
Speaking about Ramsey’s future last January, Emery said: “Jacoജb Ramsey is a vℱery important player. He grew up in the academy and his progression is getting better.
“His level is increasing a lot and I want to keep him here with us. Of course, there are movements (speculation) aroundﷺ him.
“Maybe there are teams involved in the possibilit🐷y to sign him because he has a big, big potential at Villa and in England. I want to keep him here, 100 per cent.”
