‘Unbelievable’ forward now wants to join Manchester United instead of Newcastle
Newcastle United have now seen one of their potential summer targets decide against joining them.
It has been a slow start to the summer window on Tyneside with Eddie Howe left waiting for his first big signing.
The Newcastle boss has seen Lloyd Kelly brought in on a free alongside two backup goalkeepers, but the Toon are yet to really make a splash in the market.
Changes have been going on behind the scenes at St James’ Park with Amanda Staveley and Dan Ashworth both out of the door.
Paul Mitchell has arrived as the latter’s successor as he aims to drive the recruitment on Tyneside.
But the Magpies are now looking set to miss out on one of the players they were making an ambitious move for.

Exciting talent set to choose Manchester United over Newcastle
Newcastle came into the summer on the back of a difficult 2023/24 campaign which saw injuries really hinder their progression.

Newcastle sent warning by Eddie Howe
For a number of the Premier League’s top sides, it has been a quiet start to the window with only really Aston Villa and United making big moves out of the top eight from last season.

Howe has now issued a message to the club’s owners on providing him the backing he needs to take the club forward.
“As long as I feel supported by the football club and free to work in the way that I want to work, that’s the crucial thing,” he told after being linked with the England job.
Clearly, this is a message from Howe that he wants the club to act in the manner which they are expected to following their takeover in 2021.
