£60m player’s entourage had box for Spurs win after claims Postecoglou wants him

Eberechi Eze and his entourage had a box to themselves during Crystal Palace’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend amid claims that Spurs are interested in the attacking midfielder.

If Ange Postecoglou was already a fan of Eberechi Eze, it seems likely that his performance on Saturday would have ma⭕de his mind up about Tottenham making a move for the Palace star in the summer transfer window.

Eze scored a brilliant free-kick to put the Eagles ahead in the game Tottenham wo🌌uld go on to win 3-1. And it seemed a big boost for Spurs when Oliver Glasner took Eze off shortly after his goal.

Reports in the build-up to the game suggested that Tottenham really want to sign Eze. And fans would have seen clips after the game of Eze chatting with the Spurs players following the full-time whistle. Son was full of praise for Eze’s goal.

Interestingly, it appears that thoseꦯ connected with the 25-year-old were able to watch the game in some styꦐle.

Spea🅰king on podcast, The Times journalist Tom Allnutt suggested that the England international’s family had a box to theꩲmselves at the game. As The Sun journalist Tom Barclay then explained, it has a lot to do with Eze being represented by CAA Base.

“It was interesting to me that Eze and his entourage had basically a full box to themselves at Tottenham. I don’t know if that’s entirely normal for an opposition player to have a whole suite of their friends andඣ family and presumably, a couple of agents. I know Eze belongs to Base who are an agency very connected with Spu🍎rs. But I did wonder if there was a bit of wooing going on there. I wonder if they gave Eze and his pack a very nice day out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me contemplating,” Allnutt said.

“You touched on it there. He is a Base client. That box belongs to Base I think. So that was part of the reason. Obviously, they’ve got a lot of clients at Tottenham, including the manager. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the dots connect quite like that. Just because they h꧟ave other players and the manager that he’ll end up at Spurs. But as I said on the reaction pod, I think he’d be a great signing,” Barclay replied.

A perfect target

Obviously, it would appear that there is a very reasonable explanation as to why Eze had a box to⛦ himself. But plenty of Tottenham fans will be hoping that there is something in the idea that the club were trying to impress.

Eze has had his injury problems at Selhurst Park. However, there is absolutely no question tha𒈔t he is an exceptional talent, capable of stealing the show in almost any Premier League game.

Crystal Palace are surely going to waꦯnt at least £50 million before they consider letting Eze go. But clearly, the strong connection between Tottenham and CAA Base i♌s only going to help Spurs if they do decide to make a move in the summer.
