£50m midfielder tipped to become better than Pedri has now decided he wants to sign for Man City
TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Nico Gonzalez has informed Porto that he wishes to sign for Manchester City this February.
🔯Porto’s Gonzalez and Manchester City have held talks𒐪 and Pep Guardiola’s men are considering paying the £50.1 million release clause to sign the versatile midfielder, who can play as a number six and in a more advanced position as well.
Manchester City🐽 are certainly expressing their ambition in the winter transfer window, having signed Abukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush.
Bids for James McAtee have been rejected🌞 as well, with City have a relatively small squad and ultimately, they aim to have a strong second half of the season.

Nico Gonzalez decides he wants Man City transfer
Sources have informed Graeme Bailey — TBR Football’s chief correspondent that Pep Guardiola𓆏 and Co have already agreed terms on a long-term deal with Gonzalez.
TBR Football𒅌 have previously stated that the Sky Blues have already opened talks to sign the Spaniard.
🐟The primary stumbling block remains whether Manchester City will indeed pay the £50.1 million release clause to sign the former Barcelona technician.
🌱City’s opening offer was £30 million and for Porto to part ways with one of their most important players, they would like for the Premier League champions to pay what his release value is worth.

Man City target Nico Gonzalez was tipped to become better than Pedri
ꦑIn 2021, Iago Aspas claimed that Gonzalez has the potential to become better than Pedri.”
𝓡Aspas told Cadena SER: “He looks tremendous. His father was one of the best players in the history of Galicia but Nico can be better. Seeing his performances he is qualified to be with the national team.”
🏅“Pedri is a bit more ready from what we saw last season but for me, seeing his performances and where football is going today, I’d go with Nico. He’s a more physical player, more built to get up and down [the pitch]. He’s powerful, he arrives in the box, he’s the type of players you’re going to see in the future.”
༺If Gonzalez does sign for Manchester City, he will likely instantly be thrown in the deep end after their side’s clash against Arsenal.
