The big decision Karim Adeyemi has made ahead of the summer window amid Arsenal links

Arsenal are one of several Premier League clubs who have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi in recent months.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United all have a historic interest in Karim Adeyemi.

Ahead of the January transfer window, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey confirmed that Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City were eyeing Adeyemi.

TBR Football previously confirmed that Adeyemi was torn on whether to leave Dortmund in January, as his camp believes that he’d have more options for him this summer.

Adeyemi stayed put at Dortmund in the end, and now Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update which suggests the £40million-rated Adeyemi could be on the move in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano says Karim Adeyemi is ‘ready for new chapter’

Romano has taken to X to report that Adeyemi has now joined Germany’s ROOF agency.

The agency features a number of stars including Kai Havertz, Virgil van Dijk, Harvey Elliott and Ademola Lookman.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler and Arsenal academy manager Per Mertesacker are also on ROOF’s roster.

“Karim Adeyemi has signed with ROOF as new agents from now on,” Romano wrote.

“Adeyemi didn’t want to leave Borussia Dortmund in January but he’s prepared for new chapter in the summer.

“One to watch in June/July.”

What Adeyemi could bring to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool

On his day, Adeyemi – who can play all across the front line – is nigh-on unstoppable.

In the 2021/22 campaign, he registered 19 goals and five assists from just 29 Bundesliga games, plus three Champions League goals.

“Karim has almost everything a striker needs. His quality and speed are incredible,” said former Red Bull Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle.

The even compared Adeyemi to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah back in 2023.

“Both goalscoring left-footers who make magic happen from out wide, there are plenty of similarities,” they wrote.

“Both are anti-Lionel Messis when it comes to their dribbling style, using a high centre of gravity to trick defenders at speed.

“If they’re not successful with a piece of skill, they tend to win a free kick in a dangerous area.

“Adeyemi prefers to start off the left to Salah’s right, but there are signs that when it comes to entering the opponent’s box, BVB’s frontman could get even better.”

Adeyemi has had some injury issues this season, but when fit he has done well, with five goals and six assists from 16 outings in all competitions.
