Youri Tielemans already blown away by what he’s seen from new Aston Villa signing
Aston Villa were one of the biggest spenders in the summer transfer market this summer with nearly £150m spent on new signings.
The departures of Douglas Luiz and Moussa Diaby left two huge holes in Villa’s squad that needed filling, with Amadou Onana brought in from Everton with Unai Emery opting to bring back Jaden Philogene as attacking cover.
With Ian Maatsen also brought in from Chelsea, it was an incredibly productive window for Villa ahead of their return to the UEFA Champions League, a competition the Villa Park side will hope to cause an upset in.
And midfielder Youri Tielemans has already been impressed with one new player signed by Villa this summer.

Tielemans impressed already with Aston Villa’s Amadou Onana
Speaking to the press whilst on international duty, Tielemans was full of praise for Onana and the impact the Belgium midfielder has already had on Villa since joining from Everton.
The 22-year-old was the most expensive player Villa signing this summer, and with two goals already for Emery’s side, Onana is proving to be quite the addition for the ambitious Premier League side.
Tielemans said when asked about Onana’s start to life at Villa this season: “It’s going well with Amadou, he’s already scored twice from set-pieces and he is a profile we needed in the team.
“We can grow our connection with the national team, but it is up to the coach to put us together. At Aston Villa, we play with a different system, so it is a big difference.”

Villa struck gold in signing Onana this summer
Onana was already one of the most in-demand midfielders in the Premier League heading into this summer, yet the Belgian international has already proven to be quite the addition for Villa.
The towering midfielder has adapted to Emery’s system almost immediately, with Villa now having an incredible weapon on set-pieces in Onana based on his two goals already for the Villians.
And heading into the Champions League, Onana will be key for Villa in their quest to progress to the knockout stages of the competition, with the midfielder already an important player for the Villa Park side.
