‘You’ll be missed’: Some Arsenal fans react to reported contract update for 56-capped star
Some Arsenal fans have reacted with overall happiness over recent reports that David Luiz could be set to leave the club in the summer once his current deal comes to an end.
, the Brazilian defender could leave the club on a free at the end of the campaign with William Saliba and Konstantinos Mavropanos set to return to the Gunners from their respective loan spells later this year and, with Luiz’s contract set to expire, the former Chelsea man could be the player to make way for the two young centre-backs.
Although Luiz has made some costly errors during his time at Arsenal, including being sent off and conceding a penalty against both Manchester City last season and Wolves this campaign, a handful of supporters on social media were somewhat sad to read that the 33-year-old defender could leave this summer, yet others believe this decision is one that had to be made.

Luiz has been a consistent starter in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal team this season, with the Brazilian making 29 appearances this campaign for the Gunners.
