‘You look at that’: Jamie Redknapp thinks Everton player will be annoyed at what Lampard has done this season
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp thinks Dele Alli will be annoyed at what Lampard has done this season.
. He thinks the 26-year-old will be frustrated by Lampard playing Alex Iwobi in midfield over him.
The Toffees boss has opted to play the winger over Alli in central midfield in Everton’s first two Premier League games.
And Redknapp feels that will be frustrating for the 26-year-old, despite the fact he is an attacking midfielder.

Redknapp thinks Alli will be annoyed
“Frank Lampard’s obviously looking at him and thinking he’s not doing the business for me, he’s been on the bench, there’s other players that are giving more,” .
“I did their first game on Sky at the start of the season and Iwobi played as a central midfield player, ahead of him. Iwobi has always been a winger.
“I know he’s [Alli] not necessarily a defensive midfield player but you look at that and that’s a bit of a slant against him.”
The former Liverpool midfielder suggested that Alli needs to rediscover his form and a move away from Goodison Park may be best for the player.
The former England international only made the switch to Everton back in January. After a huge dip in form at Spurs, Alli was aiming to revive his career under Lampard.

But it hasn’t quite worked out that way and reports have suggested that Alli isn’t working hard enough in training to impress his boss Frank Lampard.
Alli was viewed as one of the most promising talents in Europe after a stunning breakthrough season with Spurs after leaving MK Dons. He enjoyed three brilliant seasons in North London before his form began to dip heavily.
There’s no doubt that Alli will be hurt by his boss picking a winger in Iwobi to play his position over him.
But the former England man has not done enough to merit a place in the starting lineup at Everton yet. And it seems that after just eight months at the club, Lampard could be willing to let him leave already.
