‘You could see’: Jurgen Klopp was really impressed with £7m West Ham United player yesterday

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted he was really impressed with West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski last night.

Darwin Nunez scored the only goal of the game, rising above two West Ham defenders to head home.

There was nothing Fabianski could have done about the goal, but the Polish goalkeeper kept his side in the game.

He made six saves in the match, with five of those shots coming from inside the box ().

He managed to complete 62% of his passes, but was inaccurate with his long-range efforts.

Klopp was particularly impressed with Fabianski’s shot-stopping, as he thwarted his forwards on several occasions.

Klopp impressed with Fabianski

Liverpool’s manager was talking about his side going forward, but gave a special mention to West Ham’s number one.

Nunez struck a powerful volley goal bound that Fabianski expertly tipped over the bar.

“You could see with the other movements in behind, the half volley with the left-foot, great saves from Fabianski,”

Fabianski has had a long and successful career in the Premier League.

and has been first choice at the London Stadium ever since.

Fabianski has some tough competition waiting on the bench in the shape of Alphonse Areola.

The French international was described as ‘unbelievable’ by teammate Flynn Downes after his performance against Anderlecht.

Despite Moyes calling Areola’s contribution ‘crucial’ in that game, he’s yet to do enough to take Fabianski’s place.

The Polish goalkeeper has started every match this season, keeping three clean sheets.

He’s averaging less than a goal conceded a game, an impressive record for a team in the bottom half.

Klopp had every right to be impressed by Fabianski last night, and West Ham fans will be hoping he keeps his brilliant form up.
