‘Yesssss’, ‘thank god for that’: Some Spurs fans react to Alasdair Gold’s update
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to praise Alasdair Gold for reporting that Spurs are not currently after Jesse Lingard.
The Manchester United attacker has barely featured for his side this season, with just three appearances under his belt – and none in the Premier League or Champions League.
Despite getting a contract extension in recent months, it looks as though Lingard is not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s long-term plans.

Earlier this week, ‘s Alex Crook claimed that Spurs had expressed an interest in the 28-year-old, who had clubs “literally queuing up” for his signature.
Speculation linking Tottenham and Lingard together makes sense when you consider that he’s a homegrown player who could replace Dele Alli.
In addition, he worked well with Jose Mourinho when the two were at Old Trafford, the Portuguese getting the best out of the man.
However, Gold wrote on that, as far and he and the outlet were aware, Spurs are not currently looking to make a move for the Red Devils man.
Cue a sigh of relief from plenty of Tottenham fans:
Good! If Dele isn’t good enough then Lingard definitely isn’t
