‘Yessss lad’: Some Liverpool fans react as ‘incredible’ player back in training alongside Thiago
A number of Liverpool fans have praised Joel Matip’s swift return to training ahead of the Reds’ Premier League fixture on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp’s charges head to Crystal Palace in the day’s early kickoff having returned to the top of the table in midweek with victory over Spurs at Anfield.
Matip didn’t feature against the North Londoners as he was recovering from a back issue suffered in the Fulham game, which forced him off at the break.
Rhys Williams performed superbly in the Cameroonian’s absence, but given how depleted Liverpool’s defence is, Matip already being back in training is a big boost.
The 29-year-old was pictured alongside teammates in a photo shared by the Reds’ official Twitter account, suggesting he could be in contention for the trip to Selhurst Park.

In addition to Matip’s return, Thiago Alcantara is also back in training, a significant step in his recovery from a long-term knee injury.
The Spain international has not featured since being on the receiving end of a red-card challenge from Everton forward Richarlison at Goodison on October 17.
