‘Yes’: Mikel Arteta says ‘incredible’ Arsenal player is available and could now feature against Brighton
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has spoken about the fitness of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe before facing Brighton.
At his Arteta said that Japan international Tomiyasu branded as ‘incredible’ by Kevin Campbell, is fit and available to face the Seagulls.
Smith Rowe is not quite there yet but Arteta said he has made big strides forward and it seems it will not be long until he is back too.

Arteta on Tomiyasu Smith Rowe
When asked about Tomiyasu, Arteta said: “Yeah he’s getting closer and closer. He’s been training with us so he’s available. Yes.”
On Smith Rowe, he added: Very much (closer). He’s made big steps in the last week or so.
“He took part in some training sessions lately and looked good. We’re really keen to have him back soon.”
Smith Rowe could really come in and add fresh impetus and momentum to Arsenal’s bid for success in the new year having barely played thus far.
They have done the right thing holding him back and making sure his recovery is right rather than rushing him back into proceedings.
The Europa League might be a good source of gametime if he has to be patient and wait for an opportunity to get back into the Gunners’ midfield.
But you never know what is around the corner; the World Cup dealt Arsenal a huge fitness blow with Gabriel Jesus’ injury and you just have to deal with it with the full depth of your squad.
