Yerry Mina switches agents, report claims transfer interest from Spain and France in Everton man

Everton defender Yerry Mina has changed his agent amid rumours of a potential exit from Goodison Park this summer.

The Colombian is one of Everton director of football Marcel Brands’ most high-profile additions. The defender signed after an excellent World Cup in 2018, arriving in a £27.2 million deal from Barcelona.

However, his time on Merseyside has been blighted by injury trouble and the emergence of Mason Holgate and Jarrad Branthwaite, as well as Everton’s pursuit of Gabriel Magalhaes of Lille, have cast his long-term Toffees future into doubt.

Now,, Mina has switched agents. His uncle, Jair, was his previous representative, but the Wasserman Group will now be primarily responsible for his off the pitch responsibilities.

They also represent the likes of Liverpool’s Joe Gomez and Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.

The report states that Mina has interest in his services from Spanish side Valencia as well as unnamed French club. Whilst no concrete interest has been registered it is possible that Mina’s agency switch is the foreword for an Everton exit this summer.

It would be a huge shame for Everton, considering the obvious talent Mina does have as a player. However, given his wages and the big sum it cost to bring him in, Mina has been something of a disappointment at the club.

If his departure could help to some decent recruitment this summer, plenty of Everton fans will be pleased to see Mina go.
