Yerry Mina may be pleased Everton cannot get their hands on Kurt Zouma this summer
It has emerged this week that Kurt Zouma is unlikely to be heading to Everton permanently this summer. Chelsea’s transfer ban means they will not be selling the Frenchman. He is now expected to play a role in the first-team at Stamford Bridge next season.
It is a big blow for Everton, who clearly wanted to bring the 24-year-old in permanently after an impressive loan spell at Goodison Park. In fact, that Everton were willing to pay £30 million for the player.
But one man at Everton probably happy to hear Zouma is not heading back is Yerry Mina.

Everton paid big for the Colombian last summer. After he impressed for his nation at the World Cup,
But his first season in England has been a struggle. He arrived from Barcelona injured and spent much of the season on the treatment table. Even when fit, Mina was inconsistent and Zouma looked the preferred partner for Michael Keane at the heart of the Everton defence.
This week saw Everton manager Marco Silva that the club have a back-up plan of alternatives for Zouma, even if he was plan A. Well last summer’s plan A was Mina and next season he will hope to prove Everton did not need to bring Zouma in permanently.
