Yannick Bolasie reacts to Jordan Pickford’s save in Everton draw

Yannick Bolasie took to Twitter to laud Everton teammate Jordan Pickford after the goalkeeper produced a miraculous save to deny Manchester United a late winner in Sunday’s draw.

It was a bizarre game for both Pickford and David de Gea in the opposite net. De Gea produced a real howler for the game’s opening goal, while Pickford arguably should have done better for the visitors’ equaliser.

But both men redeemed themselves late on. De Gea managed to deny Gylfi Sigurdsson from close range.

But that was only after Pickford produced an incredible stop from Odion Ighalo when it appeared more than likely that the striker would put the ball into the net.

And immediately after the save, Bolasie – who is currently on loan at Sporting – was full of praise for the Englishman.

Here is Bolasie’s reaction to the save…

It was a reminder of just how good Pickford can be. And his teammates were clearly aware of how important that save was.

Several Everton players immediately embraced Pickford as if he had just scored the winner.

Unfortunately for the home side, the match would end in controversial circumstances. Everton had a late goal ruled out by the VAR.

But that should not overshadow a moment of magic from Pickford.
