‘Something special’: Yannick Bolasie raves about Crystal Palace player v Liverpool

Crystal Palace took a well-deserved point from Anfield tonight as they fought to a 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Monday Night Football.

The Eagles had led through a goal from Wilf Zaha but were pegged back in the second half as a stunning goal from Luis Diaz ensured Liverpool picked up a share of the spoils. It was a bit of a sour night for Jurgen Klopp’s side as well, who saw new signing Darwin Nunez sent off for a moment of madness headbutt on Joachim Andersen.

Of course, Palace deserve bags of credit. and one of the players to catch the eye once again was the evergreen Zaha, who very nearly won it as well when he hit a post. And one of his former teammates, Yannick Bolasie, was on singing Zaha’s praises, labelling him one of the Premier League’s main players.

Zaha is a legend at Palace and has made a name for himself ever since returning from his ill-fated spell with Manchester United as a younger player.

Once again, Zaha did the business for Palace tonight and it does seem that, when it matters anyway, Zaha is the man to turn up for the Eagles.

TBR’s View: Zaha A Palace Hero

It’s a bit of a shame no one ever took a punt on Zaha a few seasons back. The likes of Arsenal and Spurs are known to have looked at him and it would have been interesting to see him play in Europe.

The good news is that under Vieira at Palace, he is now in a team that plays good football and could actually push for a Europa League spot themselves.

It was a fine performance at Liverpool tonight and Zaha continues to show just why he is so valued by Palace.
