Yannick Bolasie posts on Instagram after Everton exit, Wilfried Zaha and others react
Yannick Bolasie has posted a “last goodbye” on Instagram to Everton fans after it was confirmed he would join Middlesbrough on loan for the second half of the season – prompting reaction from Wilfried Zaha and others.
Bolasie, 31, has entered the final six months of his contract and while he will technically remain an Everton player until his contract runs out – clearly, he has played his last game for the Toffees and will be a free agent this summer.
The DR Congo international came close to join Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough back in the summer, but a move fell through. Now, the ex-Crystal Palace man will link up with his new teammates and could face Norwich on Saturday.
Bolasie has gone on loan numerous times, to the likes of Aston Villa, Anderlecht and Sporting Lisbon – the latter of which he played alongside Bruno Fernandes. Now, he is to leave Everton for good – posting a touching message.
Signed for a princely sum from Crystal Palace, Bolasie never regained his Eagles form – especially after an ACL injury. He only managed to play 32 times for the Toffees, scoring just two goals.
Now, he will be hoping to provide better stats while on Teesside. Ex-Palace teammate and previously-linked Everton winger Zaha responded, as did Villa coach John Terry, having worked with Terry during his Villa loan.
Everton players also reacted, including Mason Holgate and Fabian Delph.
