Xherdan Shaqiri exit could pave the way for Liverpool starlet to shine
Liverpool have enjoyed complete dominance during the 2019/20 campaign and as play was suspended they sat 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Whether they get their hands on a crown that has proved elusive in the past remains to be seen with the Reds facing an anxious wait.
Boss Jurgen Klopp will probably have one eye on next season already and an influx of players will probably leave the club.
Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne are unlikely to get new deals; whilst Xherdan Shaqiri, Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic could also be offloaded.
Some of those departures will probably make way for new recruits but losing Shaqiri could open the door of opportunity for Harvey Elliott.
The 16-year-old has earned his first-team debut during the current campaign and big things are expected from the winger.
has reported that £28 million is the valuation on Shaqiri’s head. Selling him at that price won’t be easy but in Elliott, they have a ready-made replacement.
An ex-Fulham youngster, he has registered nine assists for the under-23 ranks this season.
That level of form has seen Klopp hand him seven opportunities in the first-team and more could follow next season.
With that in mind, it seems clear the pathway is there for Elliott to shine.
If Klopp does offload several fringe players in the summer there could be even more chances for the younger players next season.

Elliott won’t be thrust into action every week next season but playing every now and then would boost his confidence.
He is quick, boasts unbelievable skill and with more goals added to his game he could become a real star.
Despite his tender years, he looks tailor-made for Klopp’s all-action style of play and Liverpool fans could see a lot more of Elliott during 2020/21.
