Xavi approved Barcelona making move to sign 28-year-old before he signed for West Ham
Xavi gave his approval to the idea of Barcelona making a move for Kalvin Phillips in the January transfer window, before the midfielder ended up joining West Ham United on loan for the rest of the season.
Kalvin Phillips has had a tough start to hi꧅s West Ham career. Phillips inadvertently set up Bournemouth’s goal in t꧋he 1-1 draw at the London Stadium on his debut. And he was dispossessed for one of Manchester United’s goals at the weekend.
It is perhaps understandable given how long the 28-year-old spent on the sidelines during his time at Manchester City. But David Moyes will be optimistic that he can get up to speed over the com♌ing weeks.🌃
Xavi approved Barcelona targeting Kalvin Phillips in January
🔥And he can perhaps take some confidence from the sides who missed out on Phillips last month.

According to a report from , Barcelona made Phillips one of their top targets for the middle of the park. And it is claimed that Xavi fuꦯlly supported Barca targeting the England inte🅺rnational.
However, the Catalan giants were in a difficult position with Financial Fair Play. So they did not have the room to make the move for the midfielder in the 💧end.
Midfielder can bounce back from rocky start
It looks to be a really smart move for West Ham. Ultimately, they ha🥀ve the option to sign Phillips permanently in the summer for £40 million. So it was a low-risk move for the Irons.
Phillips🌃 has definitely got a point to prove after an underwhelming start to life at West Ham. But he definitely has the quality to prove to be an excellent signing.
He proved himself at the highest level at Leeds. Phillips was the fulcrum of Marcelo Bielsa’s side throughout the Argentinian’s tenure. And of course, he has often played superbly alongside Declan Rice on the international stage.🅘
After all, if anyone is g𒁃oing to know what an impressive midfielder looks like, it is going to be Xavi.
