Wright-Phillips urges Sterling to stay at Manchester City
Shaun Wright-Phillips has urged Raheem Sterling to remain at Man City.
The former Manchester City winger has the current Manchester City winger to stay at The Etihad.
This comes as Sterling reportedly wants to leave City if his game time doesn’t improve.
It’s a bold stance to take for the England star.
However, for the good of his career Sterling needs to be playing consistent football.
Wright-Phillips has claimed, though, that he’s just one goal away from turning his City career back around.
Speaking to , Wright-Phillips stated:
“This season he has not played anywhere near as much as previous years.”
“I am sure his time will come again. He just needs a goal to go in – however it comes – to get him firing again.”
“You just need to look at what he’s done in six years and more for the club to see what he’s capable of.”
Shaun Wright-Phillips has urged Raheem Sterling to remain at Man City

“He’s made a massive contribution and I still feel like he’s got a huge part to play for City in the future.”
“Maybe the contract thing is hanging over him.”
“I would like to see him extend his contract and end the questions over his future.”
“I know he’s said he’d like to play abroad at some point but I don’t think there’s anywhere better to play football than the Premier League.”
“And City are a club which is going to be looking to win silverware for many years to come.”
Everything Wright-Phillips says is correct.
However, if the game time doesn’t improve and the goal doesn’t come then Sterling will likely continue to push for a move.
If he does get his move and can pick up his form elsewhere then there’s no reason why he shouldn’t move.
Footballers have short careers, so who can really blame him for wanting to get the best out of it.
