‘Wow’: Thomas Tuchel admits he was fearful of what Tottenham man could do after what happened this season
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has paid tribute to the work that Antonio Conte can do with teams when he gets time.
The Blues have not had the most consistent season but have never been in true danger of dropping below third, thanks in part to the inconsistency of the teams below them.
Tottenham are one of them, and currently sit fourth and as per the , Tuchel has said he was worried about what Conte could do in north London.

“Personally, I was not happy when Tottenham were out of the (Europa) Conference League,” said Tuchel.
“Because I thought like, ‘wow, I know what Antonio Conte can do with teams when they are focused, when he can train them physically’.
“I thought, ‘this will be a huge uplift for them in the domestic competition’.”

It might have been expected that Conte would lead Spurs comfortably into the top four given he is an elite manager with a track record of success.
It took Spurs a while to find some consistency under him and then they put in that abject performance against Brighton on Saturday.
Playing in Europe will be a different challenge for Tottenham next season, but Conte is clearly going all out to get them into the Champions League and it is in their hands right now.
